THE ARCHAEOLOGICAL OBJECTS THAT MAKE YOUR HISTORY

The museums of our territories showcase preventive archaeology

Inrap, which supports land use planning through its preventive archeology mission, is at the heart of the challenges of the transmission and dissemination of the cultural and scientific heritage.

The archaeologists of the Institute work, in fact, each year on nearly 2,000 preventive operations (diagnostics and excavations). Their field research renews scientific issues and reveals the cultural richness of the territories studied. Inrap thus regularly contributes to the enrichment of the cultural heritage thanks to these numerous discoveries. After studies, the remains discovered join public collections and museums.

To make objects from its excavations accessible to all the curious, which are exhibited in partner museums, Inrap wanted to create an online museum gallery that brings them together in a unique place.
